Apple Peanut Butter Snack Bars

My kids love most varieties of these Kellogg’s cereal bars.

They’re aren’t the most horrible things on the planet, but they still have plenty of added sugar and unpronounceable ingredients.

I found a recipe on Pinterest that seemed like it would have a fairly similar taste, and it was a huge hit with the kiddos! The ingredients are much more nourishing than the boxed variety. And it was fairly quick to mix up and bake.

Apple Peanut Butter Snack Bars

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup shredded apple (about 1 medium apple)

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (I only had the imitation on hand.)

Combine all the ingredients. Spread in a greased 9 x 9 baking dish and press flat. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

And take a picture before your kids eat them all gone. 😉
